The American College of Neuropsychiatrists (ACN/ACONP) is honored to congratulate our newly elected President, Ronald Paolini, D.O., D.FACN. Dr. Paolini (Ron) is employed at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Neuroscience Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Paolini is certified in General and Addiction Psychiatry, and Brain Injury Medicine. He currently serves on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Review Committee for Psychiatry. Dr. Paolini is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior, Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta. He completed his psychiatry residency at Norristown State Hospital, Norristown, PA and is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Paolini has been actively involved in the psychiatry profession throughout his career, serving eight years on the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP). He has lectured extensively for the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists on a variety of psychiatry, Addiction and Brain Injury topics. Dr. Paolini served as the South Carolina State Chapter President of the American Society of Addiction Medicine 2000-2001. In addition, Dr. Paolini has had a long association with the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) with involvement on several committees. He was also the initial Chair of the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Achievement Test (COMAT) Psychiatry Subject Exam Committee 2010-2015.
Dr. Paolini and his wife, Sheila have been active participants in ACONP and Examining Board events for many years. Sheila has provided assistance at the registration desk for various American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists Medical Education Conferences.
Ron and Sheila are proud parents of Stephanie Paolini, MD, neurologist currently completing a combined Neurophysiology / Women’s Health in Neurology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, in Pittsburgh, PA. Stephanie’s husband, Dr. Ted Belsches is an Internal Medicine specialist practicing in Pittsburgh, PA. Marissa Paolini, BS Biology and BS Respiratory Therapy is employed at Northside Medical Center, in Atlanta, Georgia. Katrina Paolini, BS Aerospace Engineering, is a quality Engineer with Pratt & Whitney in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Ron and Sheila enjoy spending time with ACONP colleagues as well as traveling, cooking, and dining with friends.
