ACONP President, Wynde Cheek, D.O., FACN. Hailing from the great state of Montana, Wynde K. Cheek, D.O., FACN graduated from Des Moines University COM and pursued residency in Dayton Ohio in Neurology. She returned to Montana to practice through the VA Health System as the Lead Physician on the Polytrauma Team, creating the stroke program and advancing veteran access through leadership involvement in PADRECC and MS Consortiums. As a board-certified neurologist (with CAQ in neurophysiology) she opened a solo practice where she is allowed flexibility to volunteer as a local, regional and national speaker and educator in neurology, neuropsychiatry, neuroscience and professional degree development. She volunteers extensively through several non-profit entities, holding national and local offices and board positions. At OMED 2018 she transitioned from ACN/ACONP Vice-President and Program Director to ACN/ACONP President, becoming one of a handful of women in the College’s 82-year history to accept the gavel. For her broad efforts as a new physician, she was awarded the 2018 Rising Star Award from the Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation.
